Getting a peak into just about anything Kelly Wearstler designs is always inspiring. Case in point: her 11,000 square foot Beverly Hills Georgian mansion. She has such an incredible knack for reworking the most traditional palette into something luxuriously and unusually modern. Her daring mix of oversized objets and bold patterns is a great reminder to take risks and experiment!
The fiddle-leaf fig ficus, or ficus lyrata, is hands down my favorite indoor house plant. These living art sculptures are characterized by large, stiff, and almost leather like dark green leaves radiating off wooden stems. It’s also super hardy – ideal for all of you with black thumbs out there!
There is something so incredibly magical about the homes in my beloved San Miguel de Allende. The cobblestone streets of this little colonial town in Mexico are lined with unsuspecting doors, most of which open up into the most magnificent open courtyards and dwellings. High beamed ceilings, oversized Spanish style furniture, four poster beds, outdoor living rooms and lush gardens are not uncommon – it’s no wonder so many retreat to Mexico’s best kept secret.
This week Who What Wear launched Domaine Home, a stunning online destination featuring home decor ideas and stylish interiors belonging to influential tastemakers. We were so excited to see Simone Harouche‘s 1930s Beverly Hills colonial home featured – it’s a textile treasure chest and the perfect balance of eclectic accents. I’m blown away by the incredible mural in her son’s nursery, created by Alexandra Fisher and Kevin Johnson of Clamdiggin, covered in robots, airplanes, owls and horses. What kid wouldn’t love that?

My husband and I recently bought our first home together (or should I say, fixer upper) and if you follow me on Instagram or Pinterest, you probably already know that we’re in the middle of doing a major gut renovation. Though the remodel began only a month ago, we’re already having to make some major decisions about the kitchen and windows. Gulp. I’ve always been obsessed with large, industrial steel windows – they provide such a dramatic and strong look, while allowing in tons of natural light. Authentic industrial steel windows aren’t the easiest to come by but I’m determined to incorporate them into our home!
