Denimu

Can you believe that these portraits of the London Underground, Piccadilly Circus, Hampstead Heath and Camden Town are constructed entirely of denim?! Sweden-based British artist Ian Berry, aka Denimu, cuts old denim into precise shapes and pieces before meticulously gluing them all together. Using bleach and colored denim, he’s able to experiment with shading and color. Jean-ius.

Whoa. So curious to the ‘why’ and the ‘how he got started’ behind this. But even without a backstory, this is pretty mind-blowing.

shuuuuuuut the front door. for sure i thought these were sketches! the only piece i was able to *sorta* tell it was denim was the last one with the graffiti art; it looked a bit more obvious with the cut out.

these would be really interesting to see in person.
