Oil & Leather

Posted by on

Levi’s Vintage Clothing pays tribute to the renegade spirit and style of the American biker with 21 one-of-a-kind leather jackets, hand-painted by 13 international artists and illustrators. LVC traces the cultural impact of Danny Lyon’s historic 1968 photo-documentary The Bikeriders. ”When the GIs returned from WWII with hand-painted leather flight jackets, they inspired biker gangs of America to decorate their motorbike jackets, evolving a style that became synonymous with leather, customization, and rebellious artwork.” Oil & Leather is in New York this weekend, at the Pop Up Flea on West 18th Street, before it heads to Toyko – so if you’re in town, be sure to check it out!

So much talent, but the horse is most certainly my favorite above all the others. I’d love to have that one as a gift to my dearest friend and stable buddy.

I found it seriously lame that they didn’t feature a SINGLE female artist in this collection. Eff that noise.
