After 12 years as a jewelry designer, Tammy Kanat knew she was ready for a change. But it wasn't until she was faced with the conundrum of finding the perfect woven piece to add to her newly renovated home, that she decided to refocus her creative energy to textiles by making that perfect piece herself. DIY, baby! And thus began her weaving journey in 2011. Even though she started out completely self taught, she eventually enrolled herself in the acclaimed Australian Tapestry Workshop to further her technique. Since then, she's been creating the most magnificent, large scale weavings, full of color, shape and texture. Just last year, she started experimenting with circular pieces, layering bold and bright colors, in varying textures, in playful, concentric patterns. I couldn't be more obsessed. They're captivating and compelling and I don't think I'm alone in my urge to run my hands across one of her pieces. Heck, I'll even take a snuggle!
I love these! I have no idea what her jewelry designs looked like, but she’s obviously got creativity to spare since these textiles are amazing.

I love Tammy Kanat’s work and YES it does look snuggling worthy for sure. Wonderful. Will follow on Instagram with interest.
I really want to have one of these on my wall. So beautiful!!!
So beautiful. Where did you learn?
I love them all! Reminds me of my mother’s weaving with her old loom . She even spun and dyed her own wool. I’m very keen to give this a go. Thanks for the inspiration.
Just Splendid!@
But how is opening in center
