With boxy oxford shirts, pleated trousers, wool jackets, and plaid skirts, Thomasine Dolan‘s fall collection is part boy-meets-girl, part prep and one hundred percent lovable. I’ve got a major school girl crush on the pajama pants, Liberty printed dresses and plaid collared shirts. So good, so smart.
In honor of her very own fairy tale, Diane von Furstenberg‘s spring collection was fabricated with the polish of a princess and the heart of a gypsy. Seeing the stunning details in person last week transported me to all the exotic destinations that the collection was inspired by. And for those of you that might have missed her show in New York last month, you’ll have to check out the video below where Diane and several models captured the whole experience through Google’s new Glass technology. ” We live in such an amazing world. Things that we thought would be science fiction now exist. But fashion, technology, its all about life and being the women you want to be.”
After both working under the tutelage of Peter Som, designers Britt Cosgrove and Marina Polo have launched their own environmentally sustainable collection . . . and trust us, it’s good. SVILU features clean, twisted classic silhouettes and is produced locally in NYC with fabrics such organic cotton, tencel, modal, and cupro. We can’t wait to see more from these two talented ladies.
Maison Martin Margiela is bringing their deconstructed shapes and voluminous proportions to H&M this fall. Though considered to be the most daring collaboration to date, I’m happy to see H&M branch out to more innovative and unexpected designers. Besides, I selfishly can’t wait to get my hands on the glove-handled bags, oversized sweaters, loose fitting trousers, and sky high boots. November 15th. Mark those calendars.
It’s all about layering knitted cardigans, nubby sweaters, indigo dyed shirts, and skinny cords this season at Maison Scotch. I love the influence of the Southwest with the brand’s blend of Parisian chic and New York rock ‘n’ roll edge.
Just as we’re starting to appreciate the recent drop in temperature, Zimmermann‘s latest swimwear collection has us actually wishing for another California heat wave. In addition to their signature floral patterns, this season’s offerings include pretty paisleys and alluring animal prints in stunning silhouettes. That’s right, bring on those triple digits . . . or maybe just a trip to the Southern Hemisphere.
