Martina Nehrling, a Chicago based artist, is inspired by the chaotic nature of life and the many colors that come from it. Her work is created by an accumulation of multiple single-colored brushstrokes, making each composition seemingly elementary and incredibly complex at the same time.

I really love these, and it’s the kind of thing that I think “Hmm, I could recreate something like that,” but then would end up with a really shoddy looking painting!

Prepare to be jealous – Martina lives on my block and I’ve been to her studio several times. She is just as cheerful and colorful and complex as her paintings.
Absolutely gorgeous. Love the color and she’s not just any other abstract painter making random lines and saying its “anger”. The composition is beautiful.
