Where To Shop For Antique Rings

My love affair with antique jewelry began at a really young age when I’d habitually sift through and admire my mother’s collection of gold and jade rings, necklaces and bangles, all of which had been passed down from several generations. Most pieces had a story – stories which I felt attached to and hoped that one day would belong to me. Not only do I love the significance that heirloom jewelry carries, it’s distinctive and everlasting, making it worth every investment. I’ve recently been obsessed with rings: signet rings, Edwardian pearl rings, mourning rings, pinkie rings and diamond bands . . . j’adore them all. There are so many incredible treasure hunters in the market today, curating some impressive collections. So today, I’m sharing the wealth by rounding up my top 5 favorite antique jewelry purveyors. Get ready to swoon!

Metier SF: For over 20 years, Sheri Evans and Trina Papini have been buying estate and modern jewelry for their stunning gem of a boutique in Hayes Valley, San Francisco. Their shared passion for storied trinkets and modern approach for procuring keepsakes means they’ve amassed a covetable collection of jewelry from nearly every era.

Erstwhile Jewelry: Fifth-generation jeweler J.S. Klusner and his wife are best known for their collection of antique engagement rings from the 1880s to the 1940s. The way the age old diamond rings are paired and stack with the couple’s own vintage-inspired bands makes Erstwhile a one stop shop for lovers. But what I really adore is their selection of unique mourning rings from the Georgian and Victorian eras – some of which are over 200 years old! Pure romance.

Esqueleto: Let’s just call Lauren Wolf the mix master. The jeweler and boutique owner inspires with her “stack of the week,” where she essentially schools us on how to properly pile on a lust worthy assortment of estate and contemporary rings, including stunners from her own collection. Study up and stack ’em up, ladies.

Such a beautiful collection. Thank you for sharing it. I have a small collection of my mother’s jewels (some wonderful costume pieces) from the 40’s and 50’s. The stories that go with them really are the best aren’t they? My mother (rest her soul) had been a dancer and model and had no problem telling me where she had gotten them – more like what man and under what circumstance she was given them….some slightly risque. I treasure the pieces and wear them, loving the stories the most of all I think.

I am absolutely blown away by how many of your pieces of jewelry that are shown that I am dying to have. Most have a few I like. I LOVE all of yours and am now panicked and feeling panicked because I cannot figure our how to purchase any of the jewelry shown. I want some of those rings, bracelets, necklaces, and hair accessories. I first saw the pics of rings and bracelets on Pinterest but like sooooo many items on there, no price was listed. So I followed to this site and I still cannot find any way to purchase any of them. I hope that they’re not just for show and there is a way to purchase them. Please contact me at debrawadeband@hotmail.com to let me know how to find prices and how to purchase some of these items. thanks so very much, I really appreciate it~~~
