When Pookie and Louisa Burch discontinued their ready to wear collection last year to focus their business instead on handbags, shoes and jewelry, they were clearly playing to their strengths. Smart move. Inspired by a series of photographs by Robert Frank, from the 50s, titled The Americans and paintings by iconic American artist Andrew Wyeth, the designing duo infused classic American details into their collection - but of course, not without that Trademark twist. Oversized red and blue gingham totes (my favorite), interlocked lather sandals and soft nappa leather handbags with gingham wrapped handles . . . it's going to be one hot American summer, folks.
