If I had to pick one thing I love most about my job, it’s uncovering unique designers and discovering emerging fashion brands – ones that defy current trends by creating from a place of pure passion and talent. That’s why I’m smitten with Esqueleto. I met founder and jewelry designer Lauren Wolf years ago, when she was designing for her own namesake label, and serendipitously ran into her at event in New York in 2011, just as she was about to open a new boutique in my neighborhood of Oakland. Since then, Esqueleto has been my go-to when it comes to engagement referrals, gift ideas and those occasional ‘treat yo self’ moments. Her collection of fine and estate jewelry, art and objects is so thoughtfully and impeccably curated, you’ll walk away from the store wanting everything, even that perfectly broken in vintage rug on the floor. In 2015, Lauren opened a location in LA’s Eastside, which is equally filled to the brim with unique jewelry, rotating artwork and handcrafted objects. What I love most is the selection of rings, which the staff is so adept in inspiring me to think outside the box when it comes to building layers onto my wedding stack. Old and new, rough and shiny, gold and silver . . . anything goes! So, with Mother’s Day just around the corner, I highly suggest you pay good ol’ Esqueleto a visit. Just sayin’.

This store has such an interesting mix of decor – and I love the jewels.
I especially love the black tooth necklace.
I also like how you have photographed the rings both on the crystal and on your hands!! 🙂

Sounds like a dream job! The photo of the rings on the blades of grass sculpture (is it a blades of grass sculpture?) is cool.
