Last night, I had the pleasure of joining a group of tastemakers for an intimate dinner at The Podoll‘s newly opened Noe Valley boutique. It was fitting that on Earth Day, the Podolls would play hosts as the husband and wife team founded their label, nearly 10 years ago, with a single design mantra in mind: slowness is beauty. Josh and Lauren Podoll’s sustainable spirit resonates in the wonderfully laid back yet sumptuous clothing, all which is made using globally sourced, sometimes hand loomed (see video below!) and eco-friendly textiles and produced locally in San Francisco – a rarity in this day and age. And in addition to their namesake collection, which now includes an adorable collection of children’s clothing, the Podolls curate an impeccable selection of equally conscious wares like Ryan Roche’s knitwear, Tracy Wilkinson’s ceramics and Mimbres Valley’s indigo dyed scarves. The evening ended with minds inspired and hearts filled with respect. And of course, all of us lusting over The Podoll’s spring collection . . .
