My latest designer crush couldn't have been discovered at a better time. With so much heartbreak and sadness in our society today, Mira Mikati uplifts the spirits with her refreshingly joyful and nostalgically playful, eponymous label. The London-based Lebanese designer is all about fun and a return of childhood innocence by way of bold and colorful textures and cheeky appliqués - a much needed reminder that there is good and happiness in this world. Inspired by her love of Venice Beach, Mira's summer collection is full of California-inspired motifs, with pieces perfect for those days spent on the beach and to the street. I especially love the oh-so-DIYable jackets and denim shirts, with threads left falling from colorful embroidery.
