Erdem Pre-Fall 2012

Erdem Moralioglu’s follow up to his sheer, cool, and delicate spring collection is a pre-fall collection that is bolder, warmer, and much more daring. Eye popping colors like tangerine, citron, electric blue, and blood orange are incorporated into wild floral prints and paired flawlessly with lace. Classically Erdem. Quintessentially feminine.

I just love all the punchy colours and floral prints in this collection — the tangerine and citrus yellows pair well with more neutral blues and camels. This is so ladylike without being too saccharine. Great collection!

Such a pretty collection. The placement of the floral makes it different.
Can’t wait for all the spring collections to hit the shops.

  7. Love these looks. I did a post about my Grandmother (my style icon) today and there are some great shots of her (she was a model). I’m pretty sure she would’ve worn all of these looks and done it flawlessly! Love it. Yellow + Navy = awesome.

Weirdly, I was listening to Adele’s “First Love” as I started viewing the photos of this collection. It was so perfect. The two totally fit together. The colors, the retro feel of it, the delicateness to the silhouettes – wonderful.

It’s a very Madmen-ish collection, only with more modern prints and color palettes <3 Love 50's and early 60's silhouettes.

I’m struck by how much I’m reminded of the beautiful costume design work of Edith Head and Rita Riggs for classic Hitchcock movies like Vertigo, Psycho, and The Birds. Especially when modelled by a Hitchcock-esque icy blonde, it definitely evokes Tippi Hedren or Kim Novak!

It’s so sad that these anorexic girls are being used for clothes that look ugly. There is no real flowing femininity about these clothes. In fact everyone seems confused about gender.
