Karl Lagerfeld has been presenting Chanel‘s Métiers d’Art collection every December since 2002, with past locations that have included Edinburgh and past themes that have been inspired by India, Shanghai and the Ottoman Empire. This season, it was Dallas, Texas – the fashion house’s first show in North America. Over 90 looks walked under a gorgeous canopy of flags at Dallas’ historic Fair Park. But first, seventy-four restored vintage automobiles were parked in front of four giant drive-in movie screen for the premier of the film The Return. Then collection celebrated the American West with blanket-pattern knit stoles, ponchos, fringed skirts, white prairie tops, black sheriff ties, and civil war inspired hats by Maison Michel. Native Texan Erin Wasson walked the runway carrying bottles of Chanel No.5 in her gun holsters. Honestly, don’t mess with Texas!
Lagerfeld is a genius. What an amazing show and collection. Love everything 😀
As much as I love Chanel…. got to admit, this show did nothing for me… complete ‘miss’.
Oh what would I give to be there.
Seeing Karl in a barn seems like an oxymoron. 🙂
I love Chanel style, this collection is fanatics!!!
ugh. what an appropriative mess. the prairie chic in the middle and towards the bottom is cool but the rest is such a disappointment.
omg. this is brilliant all the way
Elisa – My Fantabulous World
i can’t believe they went to dallas! the collection has both highs and lows for me.
Can their collections get any better? Loving it! 🙂
I love these big launches, this one is so cool
It’s incredibly sad that out of the whole of this incredible, diverse & fascinating state, all Karl could come up with is a derivative caricature of the long, bloody & tragic history between “Cowboys & Indians.”
I personally love it! Could be because I live there :). Sad I couldn’t have been at the show to witness it all!
really? feathers and native american designs and headdresses like it’s nothing? this is mad disappointing, appropriative, and not to mention hella predictable. uncle karl can do so much better.
I think this collection is boring. It’s a total ripoff of Ralph Lauren & Isabel Marant. Come on Karl!
Love Channel, Like Lagerfeld but this show, did nothing for me, feels like a regurgitated Ralph Lauren Wild West Show.
Big miss for me!
I hate I missed this show so much! Just phenomenal!
