Inspired by California chef and "slow food" pioneer Alice Waters, Ace & Jig designers Jenna Wilson and Cary Vaughan took the colors of the rainbow as the foundation for their fall collection. The textures and colors of their heirloom textiles, all handwoven on ancient looms in India, are meant to remind us of the importance of eating together, collaborating together . . . coming together. Off the shoulder blouses with puff sleeves, apron skirts, wide legged trousers, and jumpers range from vibrant fuchsia to earthy ochre hues, and black and white patterns to rainbow stripes. And of course, the beautifully diverse pieces are all meant to mixed and layered together in that signature Ace & Jig way. Love.

It is a shame that sewing isn’t taught in school anymore. You can put in pockets where none exist, shorten clothes (I’m barely 5’), repair tears, etc. And shock of all shocks, buy a pattern and make one of a kind clothes.
