I personally could not be more excited about today’s release of This Is Oakland. This stunning new guide book, written by dear friend and publicist Melissa Davis and photographed by Kristen Loken, pays tribute to the city I now call home. With profiles of Oakland’s best cafes, top restaurants, unique boutiques and one of a kind speciality stores, it’s easy to understand why this vibrant, culture rich city was recently named the #5 city to visit in the world by The New York Times. Below is just a highlight of some of my favorite local haunts which include Escqelito, Mind’s Eye Vintage, Atomic Garden and Maison d’Etre. Whether you’re a resident, just passing through, or know someone who is relocating, This Is Oakland will undoubtedly inspire. Oh, and come knock on my door!

Looks like an amazing book. The photos are so lovely.
Love these images <3
I have a nagging suspicion that the book will read more like; This is (white and gentrified) Oakland. I hope to be proven wrong.
The pictures are lovely.
Amazed by the jewelry.
Lots of love, xx
Everything is so amazing but I cant get over that sand art.
I just recently moved to Oakland and am falling in love fast! Thank you for this, I need to grab that book. Oh and if you’re ever near Warehouse 416 on a Saturday stop by and say hi! My space there is Tiffany Anne Studios.
As a lifelong Oakland resident, I have hella Oakland pride. This book looks wonderful! There are hidden gems everywhere in this city and I’m sure the book captures many if not all of them!
I LOVE BELLOCQ TEA!! One of my favorite brands!
Pretty pics and details!
I’ve never been to Oakland, but it looks very cool.
