YES! We just went to a ghost town & I shot a few hundred photos. They’re posted on my blog if you want to check them out. It was the most fantastic place ever!
Oooh, me too. I always dreamed when I was little about driving a Vespa through the Appalachians in Virginia and taking photos of the abandoned houses and barns.
i love these, too. When I was a little kid we lived on Haida Gwaii and on the weekends we used to explore abandoned homesteads and mining camps. I called them “old abandoneds”, and today I still have to catch myself and say “abandoned house”. To see them in the wilderness, with nature moving back in, is especially romantic.
These two images are from Detroit. I love the image of abandoned buildings as well, but at the same time they are a bit saddening. I’m from Detroit and in high school all we did was drive around and explore the ruins. It’s amazing what has happened to that city and the history behind it, but what is even more amazing is the heart that city has and how proud us Detroiters are to be from there. It’s one of the most original and heart pumping places in the world. Bravo on your selection of photos and thank you for highlighting a place that is often frowned upon.
Agreed! I absolutely love these photos.
