A Tim Burton Halloween

Halloween is a DIY lover’s dream and thus, one of our favorite holidays. So when Kanon Vodka kindly invited us to a Tim Burton inspired Halloween ball at The Los Angeles County Museum, Lauren and I brought out the scissors and glue guns to whip up two Burton worthy costumes. Check out our ode to this generation’s ultimate pop culture icon and pictures from the evening HERE. Happy Halloween!

(Lauren as Helena Bonham Carter and Erica as The Mad Hatter)

The Helena Bonham Carter costume is insane; I love it! Did you color your hair?

But I have to point out that the bloodied geisha “costume” (I know its not you two wearing it but still) is rather offensive and a prime example of yellowface. I would encourage you to check out this link featuring posters made by undergraduates stating “We’re a culture, not a costume.” http://lissawriting.wordpress.com/2011/10/23/racism-think/
