Winter is coming. As much as I love Fall, I couldn't be more excited for frosty temps after discovering Marfa Stance, a British brand that is setting a high bar for stylish, functional and sustainable outerwear. Founded in 2019, designer Georgia Dant, formerly of Burberry and Rag & Bone, was inspired by her own travel needs and desire to simply own less. Thus, form and function were imperative and of equal importance when designing each piece of outerwear. A commitment to ethical and environmental practices is equally critical to the brand. At the end of each production cycle, leftover fabrics are upcycled. Special edition styles are made exclusively using deadstock materials leftover from their factories and mills. Additionally, what makes Marfa Stance so unique is the ability to build upon core, reversible silhouettes with detachable elements like collars, hoods, vests liners, which makes each piece even more timeless, versatile, and utilitarian. The Wool Patchwork Quilt and the Parachute Parka are on the top of my wish list - deciding how to customize it to make them totally unique to me is the hardest and most exciting part!
