Nothing used to feel more tragic than the end of summer. However, over the last few years, fall has quickly risen from the ranks as my favorite season. Perhaps it’s because the transitional weather is just glorious here in Northern California. Or that Quincy has made the holidays that much more enjoyable. Or because our relatively new home feels so incredibly cozy this time of year. Either way, I was recently inspired to give my kitchen a mini fall makeover with the ultimate crisp, autumnal pattern: plaid! From Target‘s extensive plaid collection to Adam Lippes‘ checkered collaboration, I mixed and matched beige, navy and orange prints to my heart’s content. That’s what I love about plaid – you can never go wrong mismatching patterns and colors. I love how everything turned out. And I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the start of fall than baking a fresh tart and cozying up with a blanket, a cup of coffee and a really good book.

Beautiful photos!
Plaid prints are so cute on kitchenware! Love how they add a touch of fun and warmth to the overall ambiance!
