Keeping It Low Key

When you have your own business to run and have a toddler to run after, you’re kinda forced to cope with the transitions and chaos that come along with welcoming another baby to the family. Thanks to the helping, and loving, hands of our amazing parents, siblings and friends, sleep deprivation and the premature to return to work has been surprisingly manageable. My renewed sense of energy has also eased me back into the spirit of hosting casual gatherings at our house. Even if it’s just having friends over for dessert or a drink, it’s nice to have the house buzzing again. Inspired by all of the gorgeousness currently happening at Target, I gave our our lawn a mini springtime makeover. It’s amazing what a few new pillows, throws and baskets can do, which is why, to my husband’s dismay, enough is never enough. I’m loving the contrast of the neutral, natural elements against a black and white color palette – I mean, how chic is the set of handpainted, earthenware vases and carved wooden side table?! But most exciting of all has to be the purchase of new fire pit, perfect for those longer days and cool evenings. Of course, the only sensible way to break it in was with a low key, girls night in. S’mores anyone?

It looks great! Can you share what that low fence is made of? Is it wood? We’re looking at revving options to keep a toddler in.

Love this, I really would like an outdoor fire pit, I could finish off the evening with a smore anytime! Good memories from when I was camping as a kid.
