DIY Disco Pom Pom Shoes

I can’t even keep track of the amount of times I’ve gone sifting through my craft supply arsenal, at the 11th hour – just before the start of a party, looking for any odds and ends I can find to ameliorate a pathetic accessory situation. Because as you also know, it’s all about the accessories. After lusting over Aquazzura’s disco sandals, I was inspired to create my own version. With pom poms, naturally. So if you happen to be staring at pair of strappy, metallic sandals right before your New Year’s Eve celebrations, wondering how they could possibly be even better, this is a quick and easy fix for you. These shiny kicks are quirky, optimistic and over the top – just how I wanna ring in the new year . . .

You’ll need:

Start by removing the strings from the disco ball ornaments. Place a dollop of hot glue on the first pom pom or disco ball. Quickly place the pom pom on the far end of the shoe strap, along the center.

Then stagger the placement of pom poms and disco balls. It’s important to place hot glue to the sides of the pom poms or disco balls, in addition to the strap itself, so that the placement is extra secure.

End the row with a single pom pom or disco ball.

Allow to dry for at least a few minutes before wearing.

Happy New Year, everyone!

These are so cute and would go with a few of our dresses – I would love to see one that you could remove so you can still have the shoes as they originally were
