Over the years, I’ve been slowly collecting vintage charms and pendants and more recently, I’ve been on a hunt for antique coins. I love the weighty feel of them and the ease in which they layer on varying chain lengths. Sadly, thus far, I haven’t come across any pieces that I’m truly connected to. If you’ve got any leads, please let me know! In the meantime, here are some inspiring examples . . .

Love these – I have one from my home country of the Turks and Caicos. It is a vintage enameled version of our now defunct currency. It comes complete with a spiny lobster and the Queen! My mum got it for me when I was younger at our treasury, they are such a great conversation piece!

For my 60th birthday a friend sent me a Queen Elizabeth coin from my birth year. My middle name is Elizabeth. Perfect gift and an idea I have used since.
Hello,
I feel the same about vintage coins. I am trying to make necklace and/or bracelets for family members, from my mother-in-law’s travels many years ago. As she has passed away, I felt these would be quite meaningful. However, I want to make holes in them (as opposed to glue-on bails). However, I cannot make holes in the coins with my Dremel. What kind of device or press should I purchase???
Thank you for your help.
Wow love how these look layered !
I have one laying around somewhere… I’m going to find it and wear it.
I love coin necklaces! My husband got me an old French/Moroccan dirham one when we were living in Morocco and it’s one of my absolute favorite pieces of jewelry.
I didn’t know I needed one until now! 😉
My grandfather came to the United States in 1911 from Russia. His father gave him about 18 gold Russian rubles in order to make the trip. My grandfather said he had them sewn into his jacket for safekeeping. He didn’t need to use money and eventually gave them to my father. My aunt had one made into a pendent that I was given when she passed. The coin is in pristine condition and is dated 1898. I love having this piece and wearing it due to the sentimental value it holds.
These astrology coin necklaces are totally sweet (and a little risque!): https://www.etsy.com/listing/216106819/aries-necklace-constellation-zodiac
You might really like the Canadian company Pyrrha…. They produce very similar pieces but as talismans using Victorian seals, instead of coins. They do gold and silver.
I have no affiliation with them but have been wearing their work for years.
