I love myself a chignon – if done right, it can look incredibly chic and effortless. It’s no wonder the word actually comes from the French phrase “chignon du cou,” which means nape of the neck. There are a handful of great tutorials out there that are incredibly easy to follow: from the tuck and roll chignon to the asymmetrical chignon to the braided chignon. And unless you’re walking down the aisle, a little loose and a bit messy is the way to go.

Naice hairs style and I have it for example now. I like it.. Have a nice monday.
I love the ones that are off to the side or with a braid. It’s such a romantic, effortless look.
i, too, love a chignon and try many different styles out. i’m loving the tuck and roll one and the rope braid one. i recently imitated the marc by marc jacobs chignon from their latest show: http://www.insparisian.com/2013/02/inspired-chignon.html
Love this hairstyle !

those buns are just so gorgeosu! love it…wish I had long hair! xo, Alma
This images are all beautiful. The top knot has been getting a lot of attention lately, but I think the low chignon is just as cool as long as it is done right. When doing it casually I definitely agree that doing it messy with little whispers of hair can be so beautiful.
Can’t wait for my hair to grow a bit longer so I can finally rock a low chignon again.

I’m practically always in a chignon – have naturally oily hair and I’m trying to grow it out. It’s an effortless style that does’nt require much upkeep = win win.

I’ve always loved wearing a chignon. I usually wear it in the morning, and then at night I put my hair down and I will get nice curls at the bottom of my hair!
I LOVE THE LAST ONE!
Amazing style , my fav is the red hair girl :X
In french we call them “Chignon nuque” (neck) or “chignon danseuse” (ballerina).
“chignon de cou” is better than “du cou”.
Like it very much 🙂
