I'm revisiting the work of British painter Helen Downie . . . because her work is that good. You might remember the series of mystic illustrations that were commissioned by Gucci's Alessandro Michele back in 2017. Since then, the self-taught artist continues to produce vibrant, yet dark and enigmatic, portraits for other fashion labels, photographers and galleries. I also recently learned that Helen didn't start painting until the age of 48, on a total whim - hence her moniker, Unskilled Worker. It's never too late to manifest your passion, friends. Helen Downie is the perfect example of that.
Can you buy HelenDowine prints. I am 69 and I am just starting to encourage my creative side. Would love to know how she started.
I followed Unskilled Worker from the beginning but stopped when all she did was sponsored by Gucci…It became to much of the same for me.
Como todos los humanos, el arte lo tiene en las manos, no sabe lo que quiere pero sabe lo que hace. muy buena, simplemente eso, muy buena y trabajadora. Los títulos no hacen patria el arte si.
