Scatterings

I haven’t stopping thinking about illustrator and textile artist Elizabeth Pawle‘s wall hangings since I first came across her work on Instagram a few weeks ago. Her most recent endeavor, titled Scatterings, is a series of rectangular hessian pieces that have been hand embroidered, stitched and woven using wool, cotton, silk and acrylic. The brightly colored doodles and three dimensional textures nearly dance off the neutral background, creating a feast for the eyes. Needless to say, I’m dying to own one.

This is awesome. The simpler the idea, the greater the result. I think I might DIY this (on a muuuuch smaller scale) and put in little white square frames. Obviously won’t be as awesome as these, but hopefully, one day, I can get a ‘proper’ one 🙂
