Pakayla Biehn

We’re completely blown away by Pakayla Biehn‘s paintings derived from double exposure photography. The San Francisco-based artist collaborates with several photographers, produces double exposure photographs as inspiration, and then paints the images using oil on canvas in the most realistic, detailed, and ethereal way. Honestly impressive and incredibly beautiful . . .

These beautiful paintings make me think of a french poem by Charles Beaudelaire, “Un hémisphère dans une chevelure”. They are so poetic.

  24. Wow these are absolutely stunning! I can’t imagine how long these must have taken, oil painting can be tedious yet she makes it look so fluid and delicately layered.

It appears that this artist does not collaborate with photographers when she makes and then sells her “paintings”. unless by collaborate you mean steal from the internet.

Yeah, “collaborates”…she stole at least some of these without permission from photographers who posted them online…and then sold them for hundreds of dollars under the guise that she was the creator. Should be ashamed…and sued.
