I recently went to the Art in the Streets exhibit at the MOCA. This is the first major exhibition of graffiti and street art in an American museum. The exhibit shows the origins and development of what is possibly the most influential art movement since Pop Art in the 70s. Os Gêmeos‘cartoon-like works, Banksy’s stencils with layers of old duct tape and paint, and the miniature train cars are not to be missed. Admission is free on Thursday’s from 5-8pm – I highly recommend going if you’re in LA!

These are amazing!! I went to Melbourne last summer and have been obsessed with street art and graffiti ever since! I took some photos of the AMAZING graffiti there but they just don’t capture it! Here’s the link to the post I did! 🙂 http://zahra1791.blogspot.com/2011/05/feast-for-eyes.html
wow this is amazing, i love street art. i was recently in portugal and they have a great area of awesome graffiti. need to go to this exhibit!
I was able to catch the show when I was back home on the also free Banksy-sponsored Mondays. It’s incredible and I’m so glad it was held in Los Angeles. Your photos are great.
Very cool. LA is pretty far from me, so I won’t be able to go, but it looks like a great exhibit!
I love street art, and married to an artist that lives, eat and breaths art you find a new appreciation for it all!
Art In the Streets is also free on Monday’s until the exhibit closes, because Banksy paid for it – how badass is that?!
I would definitely visit it if I was in LA
i went to this show back in may, its so amazing & should not be missed! i posted some photos on my blog as well!
