I'm absolutely mesmerized by Alena Shymchonak's paintings. The Estonian painter uses a palette knife and oil paints to create depth and energy in her seasonal landscapes. Skiers and beachgoers are painted into the nearly three dimensional scenes, giving each piece such dynamic movement and feeling - even without much definition or detail. For example, there's something just so tactile and sumptuous about the striped beach umbrellas and those snow capped mountains, isn't there? Honestly, love.

Fantastic artist and use of colour and texture is so unique. Love it! Thank you for sharing.
