The Saguaro

Designed by Peter Stamberg and Paul Aferiat of Stamberg Aferiat Architecture, The Saguaro is a new hotel in the Old Town of Scottsdale, Arizona. The bright colors throughout the exterior and interior of the property, though non traditional in Southwest design, are meant to channel the palette of twelve indigenous wildflowers from the region. A vibrant desert oasis? Check me in, please.

Beautiful place. I think that their inspiration comes from a great mexican architect Luis Barragan, hope you can google Barragan and see what im talking about, you’re gonna love his architecture and interiors. specially his houses and you’ll see the colors, textures and even the barragan fountain. I really loved that you like that kind of things!

    happy holidays

    xx. sara

p.s. this is barragan’s house .check it out.

Such saturated & intense colours. Wow, if that doesn’t scream ‘holiday’, nothing does.

I am from Scottsdale and live there currently; while it looks cool in pictures and is in good area this hotel is a joke to locals and anyone familiar with it. If you want to stay at a cool AZ hotel try the Montelucia (Obama’s choice) or Sanctuary set atop the notorious Camelback Mountain. Some food for thought. I say this as an avid lover of your blog. Usually your choices are spot on but in reality this is a WTF, honestly.

DISGUSTING!!! THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER Seen! don’t you dare come here
its a motel, its raw color that is impossible to relax in, I beg you never to walk on this property
its dirty too….but the worst is the hideous decor and as for the uniforms of the service poeple here….ridiculous
    utterly unbecoming.

no one here has ever heard about sophistication

they are just tacky, outdated and ridiculously overated

never ever ever ever step foot in this hotel
