Our love of nail art was renewed after spotting tribal-inspired nails come down the runway at Tibi this September. Nail artist Jin Soon Choi created an understated design that symbolized alright, which complimented an equally cool Spring 2014 collection. Although she used an off white bluish gray shade, we opted to recreate this mani with our favorite color of the moment: pale pink! Add some vertical and horizontal lines and well, all is right.
You’ll need:
- Revlon Brilliant Strength Nail Enamel in Allure
- Revlon Nail Enamel in Knockout
- an emery board
- a thin paintbrush
Start by filing and trimming your nails. Apply a base coat before applying 2 layers of Revlon‘s Brilliant Strength Nail Enamel in Allure. Allow to dry completely.
Dip the paintbrush into the black polish. Make sure the brush is nicely coated but not dripping.
Using a steady hand, draw a vertical line on the middle nail. You might want to practice drawing straight lines on a piece of paper beforehand. Then add two horizontal lines on your index and fourth finer. Go over the lines with a second coat if necessary.
Voila! Your Tibi-inspired nails are finished. So easy, right?

Nice! I think we’ve all had enough nail art over the past couple years to last us the rest of the century, but something subtle and minimalist like this is like a breath of fresh air. Love it.
