Honestly WTF

McTega

Posted by on

McTega is the brainchild of two mad scientists . . . honestly. After Sarah McLellan and Kristina Ortega studied science, pre-med and microbiology in college, their paths eventually crossed interning for Rodarte in 2007. “We found these mirrored plexiglass pieces shopping in the garment district, and Sarah said, ‘Oh, these look like carbon link structures!’ We went from there, casting them in plastic to make our first necklace ever.”

Ok I’m a little in love with these pieces! The colours are gorgeous and I love the whole unstructured organic feel.

Wow–what a great concept! Such beautiful jewelry. Who’da thunk that two scientists could start a trend in jewelry?
I think they have a winner here.

Just fantastic, I’m not much of a jewelry kinda guy but these are awesome. Super organic feel probably…gems and other semi-precious without having to be commercially extracted. Quite cool indeed!
(+10 points awarded for making a dude stop just to admire jewelry)
