McTega

McTega is the brainchild of two mad scientists . . . honestly. After Sarah McLellan and Kristina Ortega studied science, pre-med and microbiology in college, their paths eventually crossed interning for Rodarte in 2007. “We found these mirrored plexiglass pieces shopping in the garment district, and Sarah said, ‘Oh, these look like carbon link structures!’ We went from there, casting them in plastic to make our first necklace ever.”

  29. These are gorgeous! Some of the pieces look like candy, and made me crave something sweet. Definitely very pretty! I just looked up and saw Cathy’s comment, and saw she thought the same thing. It does look like rock candy!
