Jil Sander Fall 2012

Last week in Milan, Raf Simons took his final bow as the creative director of Jil Sander by delivering a collection that was, well, fresh as a sweet Sunday morning. Honestly, I think I fell in love with pink all over again, as if it were the very first time. The palette was classic, sugary, and graceful and silhouettes were strong, structured, and modern. I’m absolutely mad for the double-face coats, nude jumpsuit, and navy dress with a keyhole bodice. Bravo, Raf!

Gorgeous. The simple coats with bracelet length sleeves and especially that jumpsuit are to die for. I’m not sure about this color pallette for fall though. It feels so springy to me…

I love those sweeping long coats. It makes me feel like they’re hiding something and I want to know more about the look behind the coat. I also fell in love with the muted soft colors and the corset structuring.

loving the feminine shapes (the big blocky ones don’t appeal to me as much) and the pastels. I’ve been gearing my wardrobe this way for summer, actually – I think I am in a “Vianne Rocher from Chocolat” phase! I’ve been snapping up 1950s Vintage Vogue sewing patterns and cannot wait to get started as soon as I finish this gorgeous scarf I’ve been weaving (imagine: ivory and camel, silk warp, silk/cashmere weft handspun by my mother in law, in a gently undulating twill pattern that looks like waves! I’ll post on my blog when I’m done – by next week, it should be up, have a look if you like!).

  22. I know, I’ve been wearing mostly black my whole life but the Jil Sander collection almost made me feel stupid for not choosing bright red or baby pink!
