Van Portraits

Posted by on

After seven years of painting 30 van portraits, Artist Kevin Cyr will be having a solo exhibition at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery in New York City from May 19 through June 16, 2012. Inspired by vintage vans spotted throughout Brooklyn and Queens, Kevin is especially partial to derelict Chevys and dinged up Fords from the 70s. The more character the van has, the more fun it is to paint!

Seeing these vans remind me of my dads van growing up (minus the grafiti). In its place, it did have a sweet desert scene painted on the side. Ahhhhh the memories of road trips in that thing. I must blog about this.

I kind of love this. This takes street art to a whole new level – I love when artists are able to transform something so every day.
