Sleeveface

How did I manage to miss the record-to-face-selfie, aka sleevefacing, phenomenon? The term was first coined in 2007 by Welsh DJ Carl Morris after pictures were taken of him holding record sleeves to his faces. An official Sleeveface blog followed in 2008 and the rest is hours of entertainment history. These are some of my favorites . . .

We love sleevefacing so much that we created an app for when we’re out with friends and our vinyl is all at home. We duplicated the experience as close as possible to the real thing. You still have to move, and rotate the artwork and even resize it (to match the moving of the album cover forward or backward). The only thing missing is the hand holding the record. Beware…it’s addicting! You can check it out here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sleevefacer/id471522760?mt=8
