On January 1, 2013 Cape Town based artist Lorraine Loots took upon a 365 day challenge of creating one miniature painting, on a 10cm x 10cm piece of watercolor paper, every day for an entire year. As the project progressed, fans of her work started purchasing her paintings and booking future sentimental dates in advance. The project was so successful that Lorraine has decided to dedicate every painting from 2014 to Cape Town, the official World Design Capital of 2014, where they will be exhibited in January 2015.
