Jay’s Mandalas

South Carolina-based artist Jay Mohler is truly a master of Ojos de Dios, also known as God’s Eyes. Inspired by the Huichol natives of Mexico, Jay has been creating these vividly colored and intricate mandalas from yarn since the 1960s. I’ve recently become obsessed with these protectors from evil and started making one a day as part of my meditative routine. Jay has a great step by step tutorial if you’re curious about making your own!

I’ve been a huge fan of Jay’s work ever since he was featured on the Etsy blog…and he inspired me to make some of my own, though they’re not nearly as exquisite as his. 🙂
