Flower Face

Clare Elsaesser‘s paintings are inspired by daydreams and the formidable nature outside her window. Clare and her equally talented artist husband Kai Samuels-Davis live in the tiny hillside town of Jenner, California, where the Russian River meets the Pacific Ocean – I mean, who wouldn’t be inspired there? All of her work is quite beautiful but it’s her flower girls in particular that really make me smile. And you might want to check out SF Girl By Bay, where Victoria is having a giveaway of Clare’s work till the 30th.

  1. I was just thinking how these looked so familiar. Then I read the end of the paragraph and realized that it was SF girl by bay. Clare’s artwork is really awesome. I love the paintings she does with the pillows. Super cute and interesting. I think it’s intriguing that she never shows a face. Kind of mysterious.

For some reason they’re kind of disturbing to me… But I’ve always had a mild phobia of things that cover your face

I love Clare’s work, I’ve been following her work since I first knew about her back in 2011 (http://aroundminetta.blogspot.com.es/2011/12/monografico-clare-elsaesser.html?m=1) and I think her paintings are so beautiful and delicate. Love the new paintings!

I have to admit, I find these a little disturbing too. I love flowers but I really don’t think I would enjoy having them all right up in my face like that.
