Odette

I just spent the last hour perusing Jennifer Sarkilahti‘s collection of delicate and organic jewelry. She begins each design with a pencil sketch which is then translated into wax, using ancient and modern carving techniques, before finally being cast in various metals. Be sure to check out a tour of Jennifer’s home at Design Sponge and more inspiring images from the Odette workshop at The Makers.

Her jewelry is so beautiful. The steps she goes to make it is so unique and so intense but it definitely pays off!

  7. Wow. Generally I prefer chunky jewelry and statement pieces but these are pretty incredible. Maybe it’s time to branch out a bit…

I love seeing people’s work spaces. My theory is that a great work space always contributes to a great piece of art. That’s why I’m always fusing with mine. Thanks for sharing this one.

  17. Beautiful, meaningful and honest….what an artisan…reminds me of an extremely small scale version of the cave boutique hotel I posted about today.

I love the skeletal structure of the necklace in the photo third from the top. It reminds me a little bit of a trilobite.
