For Lauren and I, a trip to New York is never without a visit to the Lulu Frost studio and a catch up session with friend and designer Lisa Salzer over coffee and of course, jewelry! Our conversations always lead to stories of recent travels as we all share a common appetite for adventure and love of exploration. Earlier this summer, as Lisa was reminiscing about her recent trips to Tokyo, Tanzania and Santa Fe, the lightbulb went off in all of us. As all inspiring tête-à-têtes go, one thing idea leads to another and before you know it, we’re designing a piece of jewelry together. So after weeks of bi-coastal brainstorming, we’re finally debuting our limited edition of customizable necklaces and bracelets inspired by the one thing that feeds us the most: wanderlust.
The customizable Plaza numbers are classic, feminine Lulu Frost and the beads draw elements from boyish George Frost. The pearls are an ode to Lisa’s recent work trip to Japan, the turquoise beading brings back memories of Lisa’s recent bachelorette party in Santa Fe and the yellow and green African glass trade beads pay homage to Lisa’s recent journey to Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Ugh I’m OBSESSED with her travel collection, just gorgeous!
Lulu Frost is one of my favourite designers! I have pinned so many of her pieces to my 365 Days of Designer Inspired DIY board (for my creative living blog hapinesswherever.wordpress.com) – they’ll be coming soon!
