Saint Laurent Spring 2013

The news of Yves Saint Laurent evolving into Saint Laurent, announced months before Paris Fashion Week, had everyone eagerly anticipating the label’s debut under the direction of newly appointed Hedi Slimane. Sure, the name had been shortened but there was certainly no shortage of glamour and swagger. Oversized fedoras, floor sweeping skirts, glittery capes and le smoking tuxedos screamed 70s rock ‘n’ roll. We absolutely loved it and are dying to get our hands on one of those stunning hats by next spring.

I love the slim suits, but I think we all saw that one coming with Heidi at the reigns. The caftans are gorgeous too, and the hats are super fun. But the crazy fringed suede pants? And all the rest of the gothic cowboy stuff? Not really a fan.

This new collection and new leadership by Hedi Slimane is so exciting! The super chic 70’s, True Grit-inspired looks were some of my favorites from the collections shown at Paris Fashion Week this year. Can’t wait to see the direction that Slimane takes this timeless brand.

I ALREADY WROTE MY REVIEW ON MY BLOG, AND IM NOT SURE I CAN AGREE. I MEAN THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL CLOTHES, BUT IT WAS TOO YSL BEGINNING FOR ME. IF YOU WANT TO RESTART SOMETHING ADD TO IT, BUT THIS COLLECTION IS LACKING THAT MOSTLY. I USED TO BE MUCH MORE EXCITED ABOUT YSL COLLECTIONS.

OMG . . . in love! I personally find the neck ties, and large hats to be fabulous. Loving the inspiration. However, I am not crazy about the fringe and some of the models.
