Treasure Chest

A few days ago, Erica and I spent an entire day with my mom, rummaging through her jewelry boxes and discovering an incredible collection of treasures extending at least three generations. The jewelry from all over the world each carried a story, my grandmother’s Victorian pieces were beyond sentimental, my mother’s 80s and 90s costume jewelry was outrageous and totally fun, and two generations of turquoise and silver jewelry was swoon worthy. My bubby’s love of collecting has undoubtedly trickled down to me. It just goes to show that you don’t have to go very far to find the greatest of inspirations.

  1. That’s so awesome. I should sit down with my grandmom about hers.

My gmom has a few monster trunks filled with expensive jewels. She’s in a wheelchair and can’t get to them, but she remembers every piece and I doubt she’d let me steal/borrow. She’s the sweetest but HANDS off her stuff!

So special. I love wearing prices of my grandmas that I remember her wearing. When I look down and see them I think of her again and again.

Omg! ALL of these pieces are so so so wonderful! You are one lucky girl… my mom literally owns ONE piece of jewelry (a necklace I made her for mother’s day).
