Top 5 Instagram Vintage Rug Sellers

Finding the right rug can be an arduous effort. And when you pass up the perfect one of a kind, the regret can be torturous. I speak from experience. Thanks to social media, however, I’ve uncovered a handful of incredible vintage rug sellers that have helped feed my obsession. And now, I’m optimistic that, soon enough, I’ll find that rug I’ve been searching for . . .

Hamlet Interiors: Veronica Hamlet travels from her home base in Michigan to Marrakesh, multiple times a year, to source an impressive and large collection of stunning, vintage Moroccan rugs. If you’re looking for colorful, large scale Berber rugs, she’s your gal. Not only am I always on the lookout for updates on newly added rugs to her online shop, I continuously find myself living vicariously through her Morocco travels via her Instagram feed.

Frances Loom: Every Thursday, Kelly Vittengl restocks her online shop with a new selection of vintage Turkish rugs. Most of her rugs are on the smaller scale and have just the right amount of wear and tear – a charming quality that all of us antique lovers look for in a vintage rug. Get a sneak peek of the upcoming week’s offerings via Kelly’s Instagram feed because you’ll wanna act fast when her rugs go live online. They sell out fast!

Flea Market Fab: I may or may not have spent many weekend mornings, glued to my phone and frantically refreshing my Instagram feed to see what amazing treasure interior stylist Jennifer Harrison is offering up for sale – LIVE.  If you’re the first person to comment “sold” on an item, like a colorful Boucherouite rug or a fluffy Beni Ourain floor cushion, it’s yours. And if someone else beat you to it, no worries. Another fabulous item will be posted for sale within minutes. Follow her Instagram feed to find out when her next sale is!

Kaya Kilims: Husband and wife duo Nez and Yasin Kaya sell vintage kilims from their home in Kayseri, Turkey. Their love and appreciation for rug weaving runs deep, Yasin’s grandfather and father both worked in the business and Nez has recently submersed herself into the age-old craft of weaving kilims. I follow their feed to track new inventory but also, to get schooled in cultural rug facts and learn tips for rug maintenance and care.

Kennedy Rose Interiors: LA interior stylist Jessica Clark introduces a new batch of vintage rugs to her site every Friday morning. Lately, I’ve been paying close attention to her sales since I’m in the market for a runner for our hallway. I love her taste for rugs with rich colors and unique, bold patterns!

I love the atmosphere! Great craftsmenship as well. I have recently also seen it in fashion like for example at Made by Voz in handwoven skirts or capes https://madebyvoz.com/pages/aw16 or at CRUBA https://www.cruba.de/pages/de they used the rugs as styling and inspiration.

Awesome round up Erica, even though I think you kinda forgot about our cool little vintage rug shop SFRugs.com, lol.
    Maybe next time!?

It’d be really cool to see a round up of rugs from the different shops in certain colors or price ranges.
    Just an idea.
