You might have noticed I’ve been been posting infrequently as of late. I’ve been preoccupied with a project and excited to finally share the news with you. We just purchased a vacation home! It’s super thrilling and I can’t wait to share more details very soon. All I can say for now is that it’s a fixer upper of immense proportion (gulp). So you can imagine that my Pinterest boards are filled with design inspiration. During my search for “farmhouses” (hint, hint), I stumbled across this charming country house belonging to South African interior designer Gregory Mellor. Inspired by the grandeur of the desert-like region of Klein Karoo, just outside of Cape Town, Gregory was determined to restore the unsophisticated character of the age-old farmhouse. I love the play of rustic textures, bold colors and unrefined details. I’m taking notes . . .
This is exciting! I’m looking forward to seeing all those interior ideas you come up with!

There is truly nothing more serene or authentically South African “Africana” than an old farmhouse in the Klein Karoo…… such beautiful light and space!
