I’m loving the smeared, marbled, and vibrant strokes in artist Yago Hortal‘s acrylic paintings . . . they’re so wild and dynamic yet wondrously controlled. What visual eye candy!

These are so powerful. They hit you in the face, and then they float away.
I just love these images.
Thanks for always introducing us to new and interesting artists.

These are incredible! They almost remind me of the high resolution shots of water/paint splashing together at high speeds.

I have to say, I was unimpressed at first. But I went to the artist’s webpage and then really did a double-take. Like, in that first one posted here, with that white blob – it’s amazing! That is about an 8″ x 10″ canvas. I can’t tell if the blob is sculptural or 2-dimensional and just painted in a ridiculously photo-realistic way… It kind of blows my mind to not be able to tell. These are not just some swirly, dip a brush in a mash-up of colors, kind of paintings – they must be made in an extremely careful, painterly way to look that way. Seriously amazing.
Normally I’m with you but this time I have to say really? Love the use of color but seriously It’s splattered paint!
Omg I love this

@Tiffany, look at the artist’s website. It’s just painted to LOOK like splattered paint. It’s more like a photorealist’s capturing of a spot on a pallette.
LOVE this work – and he makes it look so easy, free, and bold. But anyone who’s ever held a paintbrush knows how difficult this is to pull off, how disciplined the process is, and what courage it takes. Bravo to the artist, and brava HWTF – you have a fabulous blog.
this are awesome colors mixed up togheter, totally love it!
He is amazing. I featured his work on my blog a little while back because we actually had the pleasure of showing some of his work at the local university. Some other great stuff was there, too. Like Jane Callister. Check it out:

Lovely paintings! I would like to have one of these at home, hung at a huge wall. It would really make any room quite impressive.

I love the energy and vibrancy of these paintings. After a cold grey winter, these paintings are speaking to me.
These pictures are beautiful!
