Cj Hendry’s Complimentary Colors

I’ll let you guess the medium which artist Cj Hendry uses in the works you see below. Photography? No. Oil paints? Nope, try again. Pastels? Warmer. Ready to have your mind blown? These are hand drawn with colored pencils. Colored. Pencils. The Australian hyperrealist artist recently stored away her pens to experiment with color and pencils, thanks in part to a collaboration with Christian Louboutin. Complimentary Colors debuted at Art Basel Hong Kong earlier this year and to nobody’s surprise, each of the 40 works sold out within minutes. Just look at highlights and shadows . . . colored pencils. Honestly, incredible!

  3. How much do I love this?! The colors, the texture, the light . . . all made with something from Crayola! Well, okay, probably not Crayola, but you know what I mean 🙂

I HAVE to know what brand of colored pencils were used in these creations! I’m a huge fan of coloring books (for use with colored pencils) for adults, and, in my experience, there’s not much to choose from in the search for coloring pencils that aren’t extremely expensive. I’m not saying that the quality may not be worth the expense, but rather that living on a fixed income requires me to be very sure of the value prior to the purchase! Please help me out with this decision! Thanks so much for your help!!!
