What if Q-Tip teamed up with Rousseau? Or Kanye with Vermeer? Or J. Lo with Manet? Gisella Velasco and Toni Potenciano, the duo behind Fly Art, are bringing fine art and hip hop together into a series of brilliant collaborations. I mean, Botticelli must have been thinking Venus “woke up like this” – no?

Love it. I would legit buy a print of that first one.
Art as a primary inspiration, I like that!

I love this so much
I am surprised by the amount of anger this strikes up in me. Such blatant disrespect, in my opinion. High art is one of the only things I hold sacred in this cultural wasteland we call millennial pop culture…and it’s become a joke, here. Lyrics on top of beautiful masterpieces because we as a society are, apparently, unable to digest these artworks as interesting unless they’ve become a tumblr-able image with unintelligent blather printed over them. You can do better, WTF.
Its a brilliant collaboration idea!

i love that first one, it looks suprisingly modern! but for some reason i just feel the others aren’t so suitable. may be the text used, may be something else. if nothing else, it reminds me how amazing some of the colours are in these works of art!
This is brilliant!
