We couldn’t be more excited about the launch of Bly, a newly designed site that allows the wanderlust in all of us to travel and shop some of the world’s best bazaars and flea markets. Bly will visit a new city every two months, offering over 200 one-of-a-kind home goods and accessories along with profiles of various local artisans, insightful stories and street photography. This month’s premiere city is the ever so colorful and bustling Mumbai, India, and word has it that Kumasi, Ghana and Bukhara, Uzbekistan are next on the itinerary. In the meantime, I’ll be busy shopping for vintage saris, antique brass objects, and handpainted trunks . . .
Wow what a wonderful idea. Love the items. Have to check the site out 🙂

What a awesome site. I love that they are choosing specific cities to do every month, so clever. I also feel that it is so important for the buyer to know the history of the item they are buying. You feel an emotional connection to what you are buying which is a great feeling. It tells a story. Can’t wait to check this site out.

What a great idea!! Too bad the site is so expensive…
Cool idea, but with over 30 times the profit of poor Indian workers, too expensive.
For that money I’d rather support my local workers and it would still feel like paying a lot (I live in central Europe).
i love THIS! It reminds me of a chain of stores in NZ called Trade Aid that sells fair trade hand crafted items – I would be happy to display all these items in my house,

wanderlust is the perfect word for it! i love their products, especially since my style home and not tend towards a more bohemian side.
however, the picture with the hanging potatoes is stunning. it reminds me of so many things 🙂
I LOVE this!! A great concept to take online – why didn’t I think of this…it would be my dream job! Looking forward to seeing more from Bly… <3
What a creative idea!

Great idea and wonderful selection but hugely inflated prices. I certainly hope they’re using the extra profit to help these Indian craftspeople rather than exploit them.
updated to say I did a little research and it looks like Bly only donates 5% of each collection’s proceeds to a charity in the corresponding city for that collection. I guess it’s better than nothing but that certainly is a shame…
Cool:)

nice things really

Exploitation is what i call it! I have family in India and so know for a fact that they will have paid some person working very hand to try and scrape a living a pittance for these items and now they are selling them for hundreds of dollars. Way to go to make fortune off of someone elses back!
Nice things for sale, but at what expense? These Bly people are exploiting poor Indian workers!! I would never buy anything from that site!
super!
