As we bid adieu to summer, I'm finding myself already reminiscing about our best days at the beach. Time spent at the ocean this summer were filled with pure joy and gratitude for the return to even the slightest bit of normalcy. I love these paintings by Spanish artist Thani Mara. Her beach landscapes, dotted with happy beachgoers, are wonderfully nostalgic and just how I want to remember summer . . .
Would have been nice to see brown bodies on the beach too, representation matters. I like going to the beach and from the pictures I saw no one was there who looked like me. I know your not the artist but a variety of people read this blog come in all shades of melanin and you should know it doesn’t cover us all. Thank you
Hello to who ever wrote the statement about wishing to have seen brown bodies on the beach, I’ve never seen white people in black artists paintings. Stop being such a racist. That goes two ways you know. Stop thinking you are so important, I’ve loved all shades of people but this attitude about brown people has gone way too far. It only stirs up pain and anger. Making the world even more ugly. No one is better than anyone else. We are God’s children, all lives matter and all shades of color or race are beautiful in his eyes. And I feel that way as well. Instead of helping or changing what’s wrong you only make matters so much worst. I’m a white American artist and I paint in the color I am just like black artist do. It would be wonderful if to see whites in black artist paintings but we paint in many different ways. So to this comment I say get over yourself and be the change you so rudely commented on.

Hello Erica,
I hope you are well. I love the beach scape paintings by Thania Mara. Growing up on Long Island; I feel a special connection to them. I wanted to know how to purchase her pieces and if she sells prints.
Have a great day,
Nancy 🙂
I’m writing to apologize for the things I previously wrote.
I apologize for my previous letter.
What a nice artworks! Thank you for sharing it!
Nice art..
Representation matters. It’s disheartening to see a lack of diversity on the beach. This blog should be aware that its audience comes in all shades of melanin. Thank you.
Embracing the last sunrays! Love the art! Maybe adding a touch of fall colors could make it a perfect transition piece? ✨-shaksham foundation
