Design duo Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli of Valentino looked to Flemish Old Masters and Dutch painter Vermeer as their main inspirations for fall. The designers wanted to frame the face, with focuses on the neckline with the finest leather and lace embroidered collars. The real show stoppers were the gorgeous gowns in China blue prints inspired by Delft ceramics that Valentino himself had used in a dress in 1968.
